Joe, a Southern California native, grew up in Camarillo. He worked and attended school throughout Ventura County before settling in the Antelope Valley. He studied engineering at California State University, San Luis Obispo, majoring in BioResource and Agricultural Engineering.

Upon graduating from college, Joe worked as an Agricultural/Civil Engineer for GEI Consultants until he joined the AVEK family. GEI formed in 1970 and now has 44 offices across the United States as well as a global presence.

What motivated Joe to work in the field of engineering?

“I always had a curious mind and wanted to know how things worked,” he said.

What prompted him to apply for a position at AVEK?

“The opportunities for groundwater banking in the Antelope Valley,” he noted. Joe has experience in water storage.

As a newly wed he took the plunge into married life when he recited his vows with bride Kelsey on May 21. Though their family has no children yet, they have an 8-year-old female dog named Frankie.

Regarding hobbies, Joe said he “attempts to fix things that break.”
