It’s been roughly a half year since Rosamond resident Donald Houghton joined Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency on Nov. 16, 2020, as a well & pump technician, a position that he welcomed.
Why AVEK? “I heard about the opening and applied. I knew it would be a perfect fit if I was hired.”
What built his confidence? He managed and operated a pump systems company that his parents, Jackie and John Houghton, purchased in 2005.
“I was born and raised in the Antelope Valley. I graduated from Quartz Hill High School.
Donald and wife Dawn have been married since 2003. Their son Dalton turned 16 earlier this year. He shares his father’s interest in motor sports.
“He started racing IMCA Modifieds with me last year,” Donald said.
“When I’m not racing, I enjoy fishing, camping and going on Razor adventures with my friends and family.”
